Nepal is playing their final group A match against host Bangladesh in SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018. All the four teams in Group A have possibilities of reaching the knock out stage. However, for Bhutan, it would be an uphill task for them with the goal difference of negative six.
The calculation is impressive. Nepal can qualify for Semi-final in all three cases, whether Nepal wins or Nepal loses or draws. If Nepal wins, Nepal will qualify for the Semi-final without any doubt. However, the group winner will be decided by the other match, which is between Bhutan and Pakistan.
If Nepal beat Bangladesh by 1-0, and Pakistan defeated Bhutan by the goal margin of more than 4, then Nepal will be group runner-up, otherwise, Nepal will be the group winner.
If Nepal and Bangladesh played a draw, then Bhutan needs to defeat Pakistan, so that Nepal qualifies for SF. Similarly, the draw between Bhutan and Pakistan will also send Nepal to Semi.
Now, in case Nepal lost to Bangladesh, then Nepal will have chance to qualify for the Semi Final if Bhutan defeat Pakistan with goal margin less than that of Nepal’s goal difference.
