India thrashed Maldives 6-0 in SAFF Championship

India thrashed Maldives 6-0 in their opening match of SAFF Women’s Championship 2019. In the match played at Sahid Rangashala, India’s Sanju scored two with Grace Dangmei, Sandhiya Ranganathan, Ratnabalo Devi and Indumathi Kathiresan scored a piece for winning side.

With that easy win, India are very near to the next round of the Championship. Maldives were totally outplayed by the Indian side as they merely threat India.

In the next match of the tournament, Bhutan will take on Bangladesh on March 14. In Bangladesh defeat the Bhutanese side, then Nepal and Bangladesh will advance to the semi-final with a game in hand.

Nepal had registered victory in the opening match as they defeated Bhutan 3-0.
