Nepal football team will be looking to create history by reaching the first ever final of SAFF Championship. Nepal has never been in the final of the SAFF Championship. Nepal had reached the semi-final only in two occasions (not counting 2018’s).
Similarly, Nepal has never beaten Maldives in SAFF Championship history. So, win in today’s game will end the winless streak against the Maldives side in SAFF Championship and will book their place in the final for the first time.
|1st Semi-final||12 September 2018||3:45 pm||Nepal||vs||Maldives|
|2nd Semi-final||12 September 2018||6:45 pm||India||vs||Pakistan|
Nepali team looked in great hunger for success this time. Players looked committed to their game. However, they must play their best to set title clash with either Pakistan or India.
In the group stage matches, Nepal was obliged to suffer a heartbreaking defeat from Pakistan thanks to stoppage time goal from Pakistani team. However, Nepal bounced back from that defeat and went on to win back to back two games. Nepal scored 7 goals and conceded only two.
The in-form Nepali team will be once again looking for a more offensive game against the Maldivian side.
