Nepal will play their second match of SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 against Bhutan on 6 September. After losing their respective matches, both teams will be looking to secure their first win in the championship.
Pakistan and host Bangladesh are in second and first position respectively with a win for each. Nepal and Bhutan have zero points are in the third and fourth of Group A.
Nepal must win this game in order to remain in contention of reaching the semi-final. In the match against Pakistan, Nepal dominated the possession but failed to win. Nepal conceded a goal in last minute of the stoppage time due to the defensive lapse. Nepal was made to suffer the loss for those numerous missed chances.
Therefore, in the match against Bhutan, such misses and lapses will surely harm and could even knock out Nepal from the competition. Nepali team must work hard on the defensive line. Similarly, we can expect some changes in the playing eleven today.
Nepal’s skipper Biraj Maharjan will be playing his 69th cap, which will be the highest number for any Nepali player. He has now already equaled the record set by Raju Kaji Shakya. However, it is very uncertain that Maharjan will get this chance today. He is unlikely to be included today in starting eleven.
