Nepali cricket continued their dominance in the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B as they beat China by whooping 10 wickets.
Chasing the target of just 27 runs, Nepali openers Binod Bhandari and Pradeep Airee completed the chase in just 11 balls. In the course, Bhandari smashed 24 off just 8 balls with the strike rate of 300. His cameo included 3 fours and a six. Pradeep Airee contributed 4 off 3 balls.
Winning the toss, Nepal’s skipper Gyanendra Malla elected to bowl first with a aim to restrict the China side in possible lower score. China were all out in 13 overs with the score of 26 runs on the board.
It was once again spinners day for Nepali bowlers as three Nepali spinners share 9 wickets between them. Sandeep Lamichhane, Basanta Regmi and Lalit Rajbanshi all grabbed 3-3 wickets each. One of the Chinese wickets came through run out.
With the win, Nepal solidified their place at the top with 10 points from 5 games with win on all those matches. Nepal will take on Singapore in their final group match in October 12.
