Nepali football team is yet to confirmed their participation in Bangaandhu Gold Cup 2018, which is only a couple of weeks away. Bangladesh Football Federation has already announced the date and group of the participating teams.
Nepal has been grouped in Group A alongside Palestine and Tajikistan. However, Nepal’s participation in the championship is still uncertain.
The Bangabandhu Gold Cup is slated from October 1. Similarly, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is preparing to conduct the football league after five years in Nepal. The league is set to start from 29 September.
The another reason behind ANFA’s silence regarding the participation could be the prize money issue in previous edition. Nepal is the defending champions of the tournament. But it has been learnt that Nepali team is yet to get the full ammount of prize money.
According to the source, ANFA VP Krishna Thapa has already told the Bangladeshi media that Nepal’s participation will be uncertain until Nepal get their all prizes (remaining $ 25,000).
Bangladesh Football Federation is looking to provide Nepal will their all cash.
