Nepali spinners finished off the game with five Nepali spinners sharing all the 10 wickets of Bhutan. Nepal defeated Bhutan by 117 runs in their fourth match of ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B.
Nepal’s spinner duo Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbanshi shared the first six wickets of Bhutan with 3-3 wickets each. Similarly, Basanta Regmi grabbed two wickets with Sarad Veswakar and Dipendra Airee sharing 1-1 wicket.
Having invited to bat first, Nepali batsmen posted the average score on the board with Pradeep Airee making good comeback to the team. He made an unbeaten 75 runs from 68 balls which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. The other opener Binod Bhandari was out in very first ball he faced.
Nepali batsmen didn’t seem aggressive in the whole inning with only Kara KC scoring runs with strike rate of 200 plus. Gyanendra Malla was rested for today’s match and skipper Paras Khadka didn’t used himself, neither in bowling nor in batting. He made good approach to give experience to the young players.
With Nepal posting the modest target of 151 for Bhutan, Nepali spinners began their hunt. Lalit grabbed two wickets in the first over of second innings. The Sandeep- Lalit pair shared 6 wickets in their 8 overs. Paras Khadka didn’t use any fast bowlers in today’s match.
Pradeep Airee was adjusted man of the match in today’s match for his unbeaten 75 runs.
Nepal will play their another match against China tomorrow at Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground.
