“This year’s A Division League a ‘Warm up League’.”- ANFA President

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Karma Tsering Sherpa said this year’s league will be a warm up league. After 2070, this is the first time Nepal is having a football league. Therefore, Sherpa informed that no team will be relegated this time from A Division League 2075. However, National League was conducted in 2072, later which was also not give priority.

Sherpa said as the clubs are in serious problems due to lack of league, and the relegation system will add more burden to them so relegation system is taken into consideration. However, from next season onward, the relegation system will be applicable. In this five years, the clubs are living with the help of just ‘Maufasal’ Knockout tournaments.

ANFA has already announced the date for this years A Division League. The league will start from Asoj 13 and will run for about 4 months. The expected final fixtures will be on 16th of Magh. Total 14 teams will be in this year’s league. They are Nepal Police Club, Tribhuwan Army Club, Nepal APF Club, Three Star Club, Manang Marshyangdi Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club, Friend’s Club, Sankata Club, Machindra Club, Saraswati Youth Club, Chyasal Youth Club, New Road Team and Brigade Boys Club.
