Host Nepal made winning start to their SAFF Women’s Championship 2019 as they thrashed Bhutan 3-0 in te opener.
In the match payed at Sahid Rangashala, Biratnagar on Tuesday, Nepal outplayed the Bhutanese side. However, Nepal couldn’t score more than 3 goals. Manjali Kuamri Yonjan, Sabitra Bhandari and skipper Niru Thapa scored each for Nepal.
Nepal dominated Bhutan throughout the game and Bhutanese team failed to register a single shot on target.
Bhutan strike line were awful as they completed toothless attack and failed to muster single shot on goal.
Commenting about the match, Bhutan women’s team head coach Sung Jea Lee said he was pleased with the performance of his players in the match.
Bhutan coach Sung Jea Lee said that he was pleased with his team performance. However, Nepal’s Hari Khadka looked disappointed.
Nepal will take on Bangladesh on 16th of march.
India women will take on Maldives women in second match tomorrow at Sahid Rangashala, Biratnagar.
