Nepal ODI Debut: What more than this to come?

Nepal is going to mark a historical day in its History book of sports as it will debut the very first ODI cricket match against Netherlands. Netherlands is to host the newcomer in its home ground on 1st august followed by 2nd ODI on the 3rd August.


The excited Nepali Cricket team played the tri-series in Lords against Netherlands and MCC which was shared by both Netherlands and Nepal. Because of the rain, the game between them had halted and was obliged to share the trophy. The match between the two teams is predicted to be highly competitive as both will be playing to win the ODI. Nepal will be much more eager to play their first ODI match and more than that they will be eager to win their first ODI.



The Nepali team is in high spirit followed by the successful England tour where they played some practice matches with the local team and was able to get the favorable results. In the tri series too they upset the MCC team but the match against the Dutch was called off because of rain. The Nepali cricket team seems to be well established with the skipper Paras Khadka leading the team consisting of the experienced as well as the youngsters. Many eyes will be focused on the youngsters likes of Sandeep Lamichhane and Rohit Kumar Paudal. Sandeep Lamichhane has become a sensational sports figure following his shining in the IPL.
Sandeep is believed to be the perfect player to replace the veteran spinner Shakti Gauchan who will be retiring from the national duty after the first ODI series in Netherlands. Rohit Kumar Paudal in other hand has become a bright young star in the batting of the team. He will be one of the youngest players to play ODI. The practice matches has provided the confidence in the team with the players gearing in the batting side which has tot be the part to be concerned for Nepali team.

The Netherlands Cricket informed a couple of days earlier that they will be streaming the both matches live. Similarly, Nepali tv channel Kantipur HD has also announced that they will also be live streaming the match.
