Nepal U19 cricket team is all set to begin their ICC U19 World Cup qualification campaign with a match against Singapore tomorrow. The six-team qualification campaign is being hosted by Malaysia.
The winner of the Asian Qualifiers will join the other 12 nations, that are already qualified for the mega event. Along with Nepal and Singapore, there are Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman and the UAE. The six-days tournament will have total of 15 matches.
Among these six teams, Nepali team looks much more better as the team consists of few players from National team, who has also become important part of National team and contributed a lot in National fold as well. Among them, skipper Rohit Kumar Poudel is one. He has also a world record in his name as a youngest half-centurion.
Before leaving for Malaysia, Nepal youth side played six warm-up matches in India, among which Nepal won 4 and lost the two others. In all of those six matches, Nepal had managed to score runs more than 200. Therefore, this signals some sort of improvements in batting.
The skipper Rohit Kumar Paudel expressed his desire to lead Nepal in ICC U19 World Cup 2020 as well.
