A brilliant batting display Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh helped Nepal to post a defendable target of 189 in 30 overs. Both batsmen scored half centuries while all other batsmen failed to made any impact.
Once Nepal were struggling at 60/5 in just 12.5 overs. Then Sheikh and Airee came to crease who shared 101 runs between them in just 88 balls. Airee scored 54 runs from 51 balls with six fours and a six. Aarif Sheikh scored an unbeaten 64 runs from just 48 balls. His brilliant cameo included 5 fours and two maximum.
Due to raining in the early morning, the game was delayed and was reduced to 30 overs per side. Malaysia won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. Nepal had made two changes in the team with Anil Kumar Shah replacing RK Poudel and Lalit Bhandari replacing Karan KC.
Subash Khakurel and Anil Shah opened the inning for Nepal. However, the opening partnership yet again collapsed with just 18 runs on the board. Nepal then lost wicket in quick intervals. Subash made 9 runs while Anil was out on 16. Similarly, Gyanendra Malla was out on 11 runs while Skipper Paras Khadka made 13 runs. Sagar Pun was golden duck out.
Malaysia used total of 7 bowlers in the inning. Syazrul Idrus and S Muniandy grabbed three wickets each. Muhammad Anwar took the other wicket.
